Rifhan Ideris

YSEALI Virtual Regional Workshop on Enhancing Human Capital in Health, Vietnam, 2022

Rifhan Ideris is an officer at the Department of Scientific Services, Ministry of Health in Brunei Darussalam where he provides scientific support to enforcement agencies in the analysis of controlled substances. He was actively involved in the national COVID-19 response during the first wave in 2020, where he was one of the lead coordinators at the Ministry of Health Emergency Operations Centre (MOHEOC) dealing with the logistical coordination of inbound passengers into Brunei Darussalam. He was deployed as the data team lead to the Hospital Emergency Operations Centre (HEOC) at the National Isolation Centre (NIC) during the second wave where his team was responsible for data management of the HEOC.


Prior to his tenure at the Ministry of Health, Rifhan was a policy and delivery analyst at the Strategic Planning Unit of the Energy and Industry Department at the Prime Minister's Office (EIDPMO, now known as the Ministry of Energy). As an analyst, Rifhan was involved in several key projects, such as a study on Brunei's industrial policy trends and coordinating the formulation of the Ministry's five-year strategic plan. His team was also accountable for monitoring and aligning initiatives, deliverables, and key performance indicators towards the vision of the organization.


Rifhan is an alumnus of the 2022 YSEALI Virtual Regional Workshop on Enhancing Human Capital in Health, where he was the project team event manager for a seed-grant winning project called the "Heart Heroes ASEAN." The project aims to raise awareness on cardiovascular health and improve accessibility to heart health information within the region.
